Kalbar is a small town (pop 1000) about an hours drive west of Brisbane. To spread some positivity in times of hardship the town organises an annual hay bale sculpture competition. The only rules are that the hay artworks must be 80 per cent hay, and include a pun. There’s a free breakfast, bush poets and craft stalls in the main street which was very busy by 9am.
