On our second outback Queensland road trip we started by heading north to Maryborough and then west to the Isla Gorge National Park.
From Isla Gorge south on the Leichhardt Highway to Miles and then west on the Warrego Highway to Charleville with night stops at Dulacca and Mitchell. We made sure to call into every small town along the way as well.
From Charleville we continued west to Quilpie, Eromanga and Noccundra before turning east to Eulo.
From Eulo to Girraween NP via Cunnamulla, Charlotte Plains, Bollon, St George, Nindigully, Goondiwindi, Yelarbon, Texas and Stanthorpe.
The name Girraween means “place of flowers”. September and October might be the ideal months to see the wildflowers in Girraween National Park but early November was still spectacular.
